Lakeville OUI Lawyer
For a lot of people, being arrested for an OUI is the first time they ever step foot the inside of a court room. Dealing with legal proceedings comes at a great cost both financially and emotionally, but often the mental strain of these types of cases on defendants is not discussed.
DelSignore Law is a law firm that prides itself on the strong communication between clients and attorneys. They are available anytime to answer questions you may have, including ones you may not know to ask.
Most commonly, people ask their lawyers about what will happen in court, what the consequences could be, and how the lawyer will defend their case.
COURT PROCEEDINGSUsually OUI cases follow this format:
Arraignment > Pretrial Hearing > Motion hearing > Trial
When you chose to speak with an attorney from DelSignore Law, they will explain how each court hearing (arraignment, pretrial hearing etc.) will go, what to wear and how to behave in court.
However, other options for you case will be laid out to you, including a plea deal and a Continuance Without Finding (CWOF).
OUI CONSEQUENCESThe penalties for an OUI vary in degree of severity based on the number of prior convictions you have on your record and how well your attorney defends your case. Typically, on your first, and even second offenses, jail time is not a real possibility. On your first offense bail may even not be required. However, more than two offenses is where judges tend to truly crack down on you because then you are a repeat offender.
